Experience Nozawa Onsen's pristine backcountry
At Japan Snow Adventures, we offer budget-friendly group backcountry tours in Nozawa Onsen, perfect for riders chasing deep powder and epic tree runs.
Our Nozawa backcountry tours provide easy lift access to incredible terrain, from short hike powder bowls to long touring routes. Nozawa is not only famous for its amazing tree skiing, but also for having some of the best hot springs (onsen) in Japan, making it the ideal destination for a true Japanese winter adventure.
The resort’s top lift reaches 1,650m, with the base starting at 550m, offering a variety of routes suitable for all levels. The season typically kicks off in early January, with the best powder conditions lasting until late February, and the occasional surprise powder days in March.
The route will be chosen and customised by your guide to match the skill and experience of your group
Whether you are a newbie to backcountry looking to learn how to use all the gear and access some untracked powder, or a veteran of the BC looking for something steep and deep, we will find a group of others that have a similar amount of BC experience to you.
If you are looking for especially big days with big terrain, ask us about our private tours!
